Job Summary

As a Service Unit Department Nurse Manager at CMP, you will oversee the operations of a large unit or multiple units, ensuring staff provides high-quality, accessible, cost-effective care and patient-focused services to members across the continuum. You will develop and maintain clinical practice standards, budgets, and staff development, while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish, implement, and maintain patient care and quality service standards.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage the operations of a large unit or multiple units, ensuring compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish, implement, and maintain patient care and quality service standards.
  • Act as a patient advocate, resolving patient care issues.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.
  • Determine the appropriate staff mix for the department and develop processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff.
  • Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that support the organization's goals and business objectives.
Secondary Functions
  • This position supports both the Fremont and San Leandro Infusion Clinics.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or health-related field required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support
Additional Requirements
  • PALS, PEARS, and/or ACLS certifications may be required for positions in specific departments.
  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • Must obtain ONS within 6 months of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in an outpatient care setting.
  • Clinical specialization in area of practice.
  • Masters degree preferred.
