Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to participate in the electrical design and implementation of verification and qualifications plans for undersea network element designs. This individual will collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and production engineers to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Implementation
    • Execute qualification testing for new products
    • Conduct analog and digital circuit design and simulation
    • Conduct high-voltage design and testing at voltages up to 25 kV
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and production engineers
    • Document work in appropriate reports and PowerPoint presentations
    • Report on progress at weekly team meetings and design reviews
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics, or equivalent years of experience required
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering
    • Strong experimental and laboratory skills
    • Measurement automation experience with National Instruments products
    • Circuit simulation experience with products like PSpice or LTSpice

Requirements

  • Ability to solder and complete electronic circuit assembly and wiring skills
  • A self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative and identify issues/opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience working with single-mode optical fiber, fiber optic components, and optical measurement techniques
  • Strong results orientation with a proven track record of flawless execution and strong attention to detail
