Job Title: Social Studies Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Social Studies to middle school students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and learning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver high-quality Social Studies lessons to middle school students, aligned with the Gwinnett County Public Schools curriculum.
  2. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  3. Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  5. Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in Social Studies education.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Studies or a related field from a Professional Standards Commission (PSC) approved college or university.
  • Georgia certification in Social Studies education.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions:

The Social Studies Teacher will work in a middle school setting, with a typical workload of 190 days per year. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
