Position Overview:

  • Facilities Systems Engineer – Data Center Operations
  • Electrical Systems Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the repair and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and air handling systems across multiple facilities.
This role may require handling heavy equipment and working in environments with extreme temperatures. Respond to service requests through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) using a mobile device. Take prompt action to address emergencies or system failures. Conduct preventive maintenance via the CMMS and supervise vendor services as needed.

Key Duties:


Provide consistent first and/or second shift coverage, including weekends, for data center infrastructure inspections, maintenance coordination, and reporting.


Issue Tracking – Document all issues, monitor progress, resolve, and report back using preferred data collection methods.

Collaborate with onsite personnel for regular reviews.

Manage vendor activities on-site


Internal Communication – Engage with relevant parties to keep them informed about critical infrastructure matters.


Technical Documentation Review – Analyze remote monitoring data to identify issues, supplying first responder information to enhance response times for repairs.

Offer technical recommendations to improve efficiency, extend equipment lifespan, and boost system reliability. Provide updates to key contacts regarding identified issues, categorized by urgency.

Coordinate follow-ups for urgent issues and integrate non-urgent matters into the service agreements for minor preventive maintenance.


Performance Reviews – Conduct assessments of service deliverables (preventive maintenance, emergency responses, and general upkeep), review action items, and plan upcoming services.

Execute routine infrastructure inspections following the client's preferred schedule and reporting protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical or vocational school certification with coursework in Electrical Theory and Practice.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installation or data center operations.
Proficient in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and CAD drawings/blueprints.

Comprehensive knowledge of various electrical motors and controls.

Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision and possess mechanical experience related to data center cooling systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to perform arithmetic calculations.


Valid driver's license required for operating assigned vehicles, including trucks up to 1-1/2 tons.

Familiarity with safe work practices typical for maintenance operations.

Physical capability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
