Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty team as an Assistant Professor of Ceramics at the School of Art and Design, New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be immersed in ceramic art as a core part of their practice, with a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. They will be expected to contribute to expanding education in ceramic methodologies at Alfred, with a focus on teaching and research.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ceramic art and design
  • Develop and maintain a strong research and creative practice in ceramic art
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and programs in ceramic art and design
  • Advise and mentor students in ceramic art and design
  • Participate in departmental and university service
Requirements
  • Minimum qualifications include an M.F.A. or its equivalent
  • Active professional creative practice in ceramic art
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and impact in teaching
  • Three years of college-level teaching experience is preferred
