Job Description

About the Role:

CAMBA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Coordinator to join our team at the Atlantic House Men's Shelter. As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing and leading therapeutic and recreational activities to enhance the social development of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a range of therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the needs of our clients, including physical education, arts, music, and drama.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Social Services to plan and organize activities that align with the program's goals and performance targets.
  • Design and produce aesthetic visuals for public spaces of the shelter, reflecting cultural, seasonal, and programmatic themes.
  • Maintain and post a weekly and/or monthly calendar of all client programmatic activities occurring internally and externally.
  • Lead and participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S.W.) and/or equivalent experience. Licensed Master's degree in Art Therapy preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • May be required to become First Aid/CPR certified.
  • May be required to become certified in overdose prevention.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
