We are seeking a **Service Equipment Specialist** to become a vital part of our service team. The primary goals of the Service Specialist include: (1) efficiently repairing and servicing customer equipment, (2) maintaining effective communication and relationships with clients, colleagues, and management, (3) representing and promoting the entire company, (4) achieving and surpassing productivity targets, and (5) adhering to all safety protocols established by Raymond Handling Concept Corporation and OSHA.
Key Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based on the position. Typical responsibilities include:
- Repairing all types of equipment that Raymond Handling Concept Corporation sells and services.
- Maintaining a profitable billing level.
- Communicating with the assigned Field Supervisor.
- Completing all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate, and orderly manner.
- Discussing all options with customers before proceeding with work.
- Having the necessary tools to perform repairs and scheduled service work.
- Completing jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
- Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out.
- Keeping an accurate inventory of assigned parts, if applicable.
- Maintaining a solid understanding of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
- Upholding an acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance provider.
- Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
- Following safety procedures and exercising good judgment regarding safety.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Establishing a positive rapport with customers.
- Performing other specific duties and projects as assigned by Service Supervisors or Managers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Strong organizational and time management abilities are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software is required. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is crucial.
The candidate must be able to effectively communicate before groups of customers or employees. Flexibility to work off-hours as specific needs arise and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required are important. The ability to interact with customers face-to-face is necessary. A working knowledge of basic D.C. electricity, basic A.C. electricity, internal combustion, and diesel engines is essential. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required. Candidates must be able to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form is necessary. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. Candidates must maintain personally owned tools according to the approved minimum tool list and additional tools as required by duties and certification level. A working knowledge of hydraulic systems is also necessary.
