Job Title: Recreation Leader: Fall Season

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recreation Leader to join our team in the Recreation Department. As a Recreation Leader, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating youth sports programs, including game officiating, ball field maintenance, and coaching.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate youth sports programs, including game officiating, ball field maintenance, and coaching.
  • Develop and implement program plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, including game officials, ball field maintenance personnel, and coaches.
  • Ensure program compliance with City of Redding policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to promote program visibility and participation.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree in recreation, education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in recreation, education, or related field, including experience in youth sports programming.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to obtain Basic First Aid Certification and CPR/AED Adult with CPR Child/Infant Certification.
