Job Title: Chemical Dependency Counselor

About the Role:

The Chemical Dependency Counselor provides assessment, recovery-focused treatment planning, group and individual training, and group and individual counseling to individuals experiencing addictive disease and serious mental illness. This role involves crisis intervention, service coordination, and linkage to community services for substance abuse treatment. The counselor works in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community environments, providing support in homes, workplaces, schools, and shelters.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and develop recovery-focused treatment plans for individuals with addictive disease and serious mental illness.
  • Provide group and individual training, counseling, and support to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide support during times of crisis.
  • Coordinate services and link individuals to community resources for substance abuse treatment.
  • Work in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community environments.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Certification in chemical dependency counseling (e.g., CAC-II, DACD, CCADC, GCADC) or actively working towards certification.
  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences preferred.
