About the Role

The Research Analyst will support Title III initiatives through the collection, tracking, analysis, evaluation and visualization of data for decision-making and reporting grant project goals. This position will be based on the main campus and eligible for some remote work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Reporting and Compliance: Coordinate the gathering and analysis of data for the purposes of grant reporting and compliance.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Interpret internal and external data dashboards and other data visualizations related to project activities.
  • Database Management: Assist with management of data multiple databases.
  • Professional Development: Co-create professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to cover requesting, interpreting, and utilizing institutional data.
  • Reporting and Communication: Create reports related to Title III that summarize data using clear and concise charts and tables.
  • Data Security: Maintain a secure data environment, and ensure confidentiality of information secured and controlled by Institutional Research.
Requirements
  • Advanced Data Analysis: Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in writing functional specifications and documentation.
  • Project Management: Responsive to data needs and have the ability to effectively organize projects.
  • Communication and Critical Thinking: Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Self-Motivation and Collaboration: Applicant must be self-motivated, collaborative, and have good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Data Collection and Dissemination: Experience with the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data for reporting and decision-making, survey design and analysis of results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Database Management: Use of MS SQL Management Studio.
  • Relational Database Technology: Working knowledge of relational database technology, data mining, and higher education administrative systems; experience with Ellucian Banner and Tableau a plus.
  • Higher Education Experience: Experience in higher education, with the National Student Clearinghouse, use of StudentTracker and reporting to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, social sciences, or related field.
