Job Summary

Suru In-Home Physical Therapy is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the physical therapist in developing and implementing patient care plans, ensuring a high level of quality and safety.
  • Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of the physical therapist, promoting optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the physical therapist in a timely manner.
  • Provide education and training to patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
  • Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, with a focus on musculoskeletal and neurological systems.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices, including electronic health records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Acute care experience, with a focus on rehabilitation and patient education.
  • Knowledge of physiology and anatomy, with a focus on musculoskeletal and neurological systems.
  • Familiarity with occupational health practices, including workplace safety and ergonomics.
  • Strong patient care skills, with a focus on empathy and compassion.
  • Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques, with a focus on pain management and relaxation.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, including pharmacology and medical procedures.
