Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work on a per-diem basis. This role is essential in delivering high-quality therapy services as outlined in the patient’s Plan of Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver therapy services as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT) in accordance with the established Plan of Care.
  • Maintain compliance with State and Federal regulations while providing therapy services under the guidance of a Registered Therapist.
  • Engage in timely consultations with the PT regarding any changes in patient treatment or condition.
  • Accurately complete documentation, including daily notes, and assist the PT in preparing progress notes, discharge summaries, and monthly reports as necessary.
  • Ensure timely submission of billing, payroll, and expense reports.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, referring physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge of new techniques.
  • Contribute to care planning meetings and family training sessions to discuss patient progress as requested.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to promote safety for both employees and patients.
  • Verify that all equipment is functioning properly before providing patient care and report any issues as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as required by the Director of Rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with team members to align treatment goals effectively.
  • Ensure all licensure and certifications are current as mandated by state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Arts degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification:

  • State-required licensure or certification.
  • Current CPR certification.

Experience:

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a residential, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility.
  • New graduates from a Physical Therapy Assistant program are welcome to apply.
