As a key member of our surgical team at SSM Health, the Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including checking and calibrating machines, changing oxygen cylinders, and refilling anesthesia gases.
  • Order and stock anesthesia supplies, ensuring that carts are fully equipped and ready for use.
  • Collaborate with the anesthesia team to ensure that all equipment is in good working order and that infection control guidelines are followed.
  • Participate in the operating room turnover process, disinfecting work surfaces and equipment, and preparing for the next procedure.
  • Work closely with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are available for each procedure.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • No prior experience required, but a strong desire to learn and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, with frequent lifting and carrying of equipment and supplies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
