Position Summary :
Pacific Shipyards is in search of individuals with experience in retail and parts counter operations to join our team in managing consumables and specialized tool rental services. The Ship Store Associate is responsible for providing essential tools, equipment, and supplies to various trades within the organization and subcontractors, while also overseeing inventory management and restocking of necessary items for the store. The associate must maintain accurate records of tool locations and ensure adequate resources are available for construction activities.

- Perform assigned job duties and additional tasks as directed by Management.
- Maintain a positive and respectful demeanor, conducting oneself with integrity and professionalism towards customers and colleagues.
- Regularly communicate with Officers, Managers, and Supervisors regarding departmental issues.
- Arrive punctually for work, meetings, and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Keep assigned work areas clean and organized.
- Ensure the safety and proper maintenance of all assigned equipment.
- Adhere to safety and security standards in all duties performed.
- Meet productivity and quality benchmarks established by management.
- Maintain precise records of incoming and outgoing supplies, tools, and equipment utilizing a POS system
- Distribute tools and supplies, including mechanical, structural, coatings, and laborer tools to various trades
- Restock supplies within the store
- Inspect and repair tools as necessary
- Keep the store and warehouse areas clean
- Perform additional duties as required
- Strong oral communication skills are required to effectively interact with clients, employees, management, and vendors.
- Ability to collaborate with others with minimal supervision and function as a team player.
- Must exhibit a courteous, efficient, and professional demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Requires focus, alertness, and attention to detail.
- Must be able to understand and follow both oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Must comprehend and adhere to occupational safety and health regulations, as well as other relevant state and federal regulations.
- Ability to comply with NAVSEA standards and regulations.
- Duties may vary and often require analysis, judgment, and discretion.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
- Must provide proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to security clearance needed for access
- Must successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Must successfully acquire a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential for access to federally controlled work sites
- All candidates must undergo and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check prior to employment. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a store associate or in a warehouse setting
- Experience in a maritime or industrial retail environment is preferred.
- Must provide proof of a valid state driver's license in good standing
- Availability - This position requires flexible availability and the potential for overtime based on project needs.
- The replenishment process will require the following:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to move and handle gas cylinders
