Aquarist II

At Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, we are seeking a highly skilled Aquarist II to join our team. As an Aquarist II, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining animal enrichment programs, creating engaging public presentations, and ensuring the well-being of our marine animals.

• Animal Enrichment: Develop and implement animal enrichment programs to promote the physical and mental well-being of our marine animals.
• Public Presentations: Create and deliver engaging public presentations to hotel guests and the public, highlighting the importance of marine conservation and the unique features of our aquarium.
• Food Supplies and Inventory: Maintain accurate records of food supplies and inventory, ensuring that our marine animals receive the highest quality nutrition.
• Animal Care: Anticipate and meet the physical and nutritional needs of our marine animals, ensuring their health and well-being.
• Food Preparation Protocols: Develop and implement food preparation protocols to ensure the highest quality nutrition for our marine animals.

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• SCUBA Certification: Certified by a recognized SCUBA certification agency as Open Water diver or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in large aquarium settings, animal training, and quarantine areas is highly desirable.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, kneel, SCUBA dive, swim, and breathe-hold dive during entire shift.

Salary Range: $23.82/hr
