Job Overview

Position Summary:
This role involves providing essential support to educators in the design and execution of classroom activities tailored to meet the unique educational requirements of each student. Your encouragement and guidance will significantly contribute to creating a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of educators and in compliance with relevant educational regulations, you will assist in the development and delivery of instructional content that aligns with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student:
- Collaborate with educators to design classroom activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and educational needs of assigned students.
- Support the assessment of students' abilities and assist in crafting lesson plans that are tailored to individual learning goals.
- Help maintain a classroom atmosphere that promotes academic and social learning by guiding students towards appropriate behavior.
- Assist in the effective use of classroom resources and provide recommendations for new materials and supplies.
- Monitor and document student behavior, collecting data to inform instructional adjustments and support student progress.
- Contribute to the management of student behavior to ensure a safe and secure learning environment, reporting any concerns to educators.
- Engage directly with students, providing tutoring in social, vocational, and educational skills necessary for their development.
- Accompany students during school activities, offering guidance and support during excursions and recreational events.
- Advocate for students, assisting in resolving behavioral and academic challenges promptly.
- Complete necessary documentation related to student progress and incidents, ensuring compliance with educational policies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in an educational setting, or 30 college credits with relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Special Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Familiarity with educational strategies for students with diverse learning needs is required. Effective teaching and facilitation skills, along with basic math proficiency, are necessary. A valid driver's license and a minimum of one year of driving experience are also required.
