Your Role:
As a Vocational Rehabilitation Training Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering educational programs to adult learners.

Joining our VR Training team means you will contribute to the development and delivery of job-skills training for vocational rehabilitation counselors and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

The Vocational Rehabilitation Training Consultant will serve as both an instructor and curriculum designer, undertaking advanced responsibilities.

Your work will involve planning, developing, assessing, and facilitating training sessions focused on Vocational Rehabilitation, utilizing diverse instructional methods.

You may also lead teams, providing direction and support to colleagues. This role operates with a degree of autonomy, allowing for independent decision-making and initiative.
Expectations:

  • Design and present a broad range of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) training topics to staff, adhering to established departmental standards.
  • Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop effective training strategies.
  • Organize and lead workshops aimed at training trainers and conducting project meetings.
  • Foster positive relationships with subject-matter experts and colleagues to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Prepare accurate documentation, including reports and training materials, ensuring adherence to proper formatting and grammar.
  • Occasionally mentor fellow training staff.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning within the Texas Workforce System (TWS).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A degree from an accredited four-year institution in human resources, organizational development, education, or a related field, along with three years of relevant experience in training methodologies and program development; or experience in agency operations that includes delivering group presentations.
- Experience and education may be interchangeable (one year equals 30 semester hours).

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor.
  • Proficient in delivering training to adult learners in both classroom and virtual settings.
  • Familiarity with case management tools and processes.
  • Experience working with individuals with diverse abilities and accessibility needs.
  • Skilled in developing and updating training curricula to align with specific business needs.
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, if necessary.
