Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining all network, voice configurations, and connections for Second Avenue. This includes analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware and server application software.

This position also detects, diagnoses, and reports problems on all hardware and software systems. The IT Infrastructure Manager will perform a wide variety of complex tasks in software/hardware maintenance and operational support.

This position requires establishing rapport and excellent relationships with Senior Management, vendors, and carriers. The IT Infrastructure Manager will also act as a liaison between other Information Technology teams in affiliated companies and will provide mentoring and coaching to team members on a continual basis.

This position will also be recognized as a SME in Second Avenue for IT with comprehensive knowledge and experience; working under minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • IT Project Management: Manage all IT projects for Second Avenue and support Senior Management in approving IT decisions and expenditures for systems expansions and upgrades.
  • IT Security: Advise Senior Management on IT security policies and procedures.
  • Technical Leadership: Assist all levels of managers in the Company, providing direction and leadership on technology issues as needed/directed.
  • IT Support: Oversee and directly work with one or more IT Technicians to provide ongoing IT ticket support throughout the Company.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT experts in affiliated companies on troubleshooting for complex network, voice hardware, and software problems.
  • Network Optimization: Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Cisco Unified Communications Solutions: Manage and monitor Cisco Unified Communications Solutions, Voice Over IP, Call Manager, Voicemail, and Call Center.
  • Switch and Firewall Configuration: Perform switch and firewall configuration and support in line with the Company's IT security policy.
  • Data Integrity and Security: Ensure the data integrity and security on the network.
  • Technology Architecture: Develop the technology architecture for the Company's IT systems, including but not limited to hardware, software, networking, systems, and support processes and procedures.
  • Collaboration with Affiliated Companies: Work closely with IT managers in affiliated companies to plan, develop, design, and strategize an architecture that will benefit the organization as a whole.
  • Assessment of New Technologies: Assess new technologies and appraise Senior Management of changes that may be appropriate to the mission of the Company.
  • Autonomy and Cross-Training: Opportunities for greater autonomy over projects as directed. Cross-train analysts on processes and procedures within the IT department.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Provide support for more technically complex issues and problems with day-to-day troubleshooting for tickets; Troubleshoot server hardware operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Software Product Configuration: Maintain SME Responsibility for configuring, documenting, implementing, and troubleshooting the following software products; Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Email Systems, Storage Area Network, Backup products, Anti-Virus products, and Anti-SPAM products.
  • Server Administration: Administrator the server operating, messaging infrastructure, and storage area network; Oversee daily backup of server data files, media, and offsite storage administration.
  • Liaison and Team Management: Directly work with Senior Management and experts in affiliated companies in the design and project management of network concepts, structure, and connectivity, as directed. Foster a positive team environment and assist superiors with the direction of team dynamics.
  • Confidentiality: Ensure confidentiality of internal and external data.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth hands-on technical knowledge and experience with network equipment, dynamic routing protocols, WAN, LAN, firewalls, and voice technologies.
  • Server Administration: In-depth hands-on technical knowledge and experience with server equipment, virtual hosts, and servers, SAN/NAS, Backup appliances, and Security software or appliances.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Technical background on IBM PC/AT compatible type of hardware and peripherals.
  • Networking Knowledge: Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, SMTP protocol, DHCP, TCP/IP, WINS, and DNS.
  • Project Management Disciplines: Project Management Disciplines & Tools.
  • Documentation: Strong emphasis on documentation creation, curation, and management as directed.
  • Leadership and Management: Able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and coach, mentor, and lead less experienced individuals.
  • People Management: Proficient in all people management processes, including recruitment, performance management, and reward.
  • Team Development: Proficient in building, growing, and developing a team; including department structure design and resourcing.
  • Coaching and Development: Proficient in coaching and developing individual team members to reach their potential.

Education and Experience
  • Education: BS in computer-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification: Microsoft Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience with:

Ethernet network environment and peripherals

Cisco Unified Communications Solutions; Voice Over IP

HP, IBM, or Dell servers

VMWare or Hyper-V

Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2016
