Career Orientation and Development Program

At American Woodmark, we are committed to providing our new hires with a comprehensive training program that sets them up for success in their careers. Our Career Orientation and Development (COD) program is designed to give new graduates a jump-start on their career, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in their roles.

The COD program is a 12-week training program that takes place at our corporate office and in the field. During this time, participants will learn about the different functional areas within American Woodmark, including builder centers, home centers, production plants, and support functions. They will also gain hands-on experience in areas such as order entry, manufacturing, and customer service.

Throughout the program, participants will work closely with our experienced trainers and mentors to develop their skills and knowledge. They will also have the opportunity to shadow and work alongside current employees to gain real-world experience.

The COD program is an excellent opportunity for new graduates to gain a comprehensive understanding of the American Woodmark organization and to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is looking to start your career with a leading manufacturer, we encourage you to apply for our COD program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the COD program and complete all assigned work
  • Learn about the different functional areas within American Woodmark
  • Gain hands-on experience in areas such as order entry, manufacturing, and customer service
  • Shadow and work alongside current employees to gain real-world experience
  • Develop relationships with various departments and managers
  • Communicate with Coach/HR professionals on a weekly basis
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree with a class rank above 20% and/or a GPA of a 3.0 from an approved accredited college/university
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
  • Energy and focus to be goals and results-oriented
  • Drive, determination, and discipline of a self-starter
  • Possess a valid and current driver's license within the United States and maintain a satisfactory driving history
