About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary office in Tampa or Clearwater, Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and preparing site, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility plans, as well as design reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilize technologies to develop three-dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases, including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  • Assist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • May lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
  • Perform and oversee the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Utilize advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements.
  • Participate in constructability review.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  • Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
  • Work on multiple projects.
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.
  • Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Experience with both private and public sector clients/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills, including computer literacy in Civil3D, Hydrology/Hydraulic design software, MS Office.
  • Direct experience in client management and business development is an asset.
