Senior Property Risk Underwriter

Position Overview:
As a key member of the Excess & Surplus Lines Property division, the Senior Property Risk Underwriter is responsible for evaluating intricate risk submissions for both new business and renewals. This role involves the meticulous gathering and analysis of relevant data to assess the acceptability of risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review endorsements on existing policies to identify any alterations in original coverage.
- Evaluate, accept, reject, or modify risks in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority.
- Engage with producers to advocate for Chubb Westchester Property coverages, products, and services.
- Foster strong relationships with producers to enhance customer orientation and stimulate the submission of targeted business.
- Manage all aspects of agency management within the designated territory.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to meet customer and team needs.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Excess & Surplus Lines Property risk underwriting, with a proven ability to manage large, complex risks.
- Minimum of 7 years of property underwriting experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated initiative through effective self-management, organization, and prioritization of tasks.
- Wholesale underwriting experience is preferred; however, retail experience is also acceptable.
- Exceptional ability to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive marketing plan.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to build trust and establish effective working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening, confident expression of opinions, and effective written communication tailored to diverse audiences.
Additional Skills:
- People management experience is preferred.
- Resourceful training capabilities.
- Proficient in various computer programs.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $117,000 to $189,000, with specific offers dependent on the applicant's skills and other relevant factors. This role may also qualify for a discretionary annual incentive program.
