Key Responsibilities

  • Behavioral Support: Monitor students' behavior, escort students to areas on campus, and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with grading papers, preparing classroom materials, and maintaining classroom bulletin boards and displays.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience.
  • Professional Development: Participate in in-service training sessions and other related meetings to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one year of educational or clerical experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensing: Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment, and a fingerprint clearance card as a condition of employment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic first aid, basic mathematical skills, customer service principles, computer operations, and classroom operations and activities.
Working Conditions

Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Incumbents may be subjected to odors, extreme temperatures, and intense noises.
