This full-time role is designed for an individual who is enthusiastic about fostering an inclusive learning environment for middle school students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will manage a reasonable caseload and will be supported by two paraprofessionals in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute personalized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the distinct requirements of each student.
  • Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals to provide comprehensive assistance to students.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, organized, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
  • Evaluate and track student progress, modifying instructional methods as necessary to meet educational objectives.
  • Engage with parents, school personnel, and other professionals to enhance student support and coordination.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the formulation of educational and behavioral strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related discipline.
  • Valid Ohio Teaching Certification with a specialization in Special Education.
  • Preferred experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with a strong capacity to collaborate with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work in partnership with classroom paraprofessionals to create a supportive educational environment.
