Job Overview

Malace|HR is in search of a qualified Controls Systems Engineer to oversee operations at a leading National Healthcare Insurance Provider. This position is a direct hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, program, and maintain a sophisticated control system that is vital for the efficient functioning of a facility that supports extensive data processing and office activities.
  • Conduct evaluations of existing systems and explore new technologies; adjust operational sequences to align with occupant requirements and schedules; ensure compliance with industry standards; assess programming techniques; and analyze energy consumption to propose or execute modifications aimed at reducing energy use.
  • Address alarms, emergencies, or system malfunctions, making necessary programming adjustments as required.
  • Diagnose and rectify system issues, repair building automation systems and components, employing independent judgment and analytical skills to adjust control software for optimal performance.
  • Utilize knowledge of facility operations, mechanical HVAC systems, electrical generation and distribution, security, and building automation systems to review project specifications and documents, ensuring the development of effective solutions.
  • Deliver programming that adheres to engineered operational sequences, develop graphical user interfaces as specified, and provide accurate As-Built documentation based on initial project drawings and modifications.
  • Assist with project closeout and reporting progress to management.
  • Coordinate and provide training for building engineers, vendors, and other facility personnel as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, engineering technology, building automation technology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in building controls automation systems.
  • At least three (3) years of software application experience within the building or process controls sector, particularly with systems related to complex data processing centers and facilities generating steam, hot water, chilled water, and emergency power.
  • Familiarity with electrical, control, and network wiring.
  • Understanding of HVAC control systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, security systems, and maintenance techniques.
  • Preferred knowledge of systems such as Tridium, Alerton, Honeywell, Johnson, Automated Logic controls, Pelco, Digital Sentry, DC ControlPoint, and TAC.
