We are in search of a proactive, enthusiastic, and hands-on Accounting Specialist to assist with the Company's financial operations. The Accounting Specialist will oversee a wide array of transactional, reconciliation, and various accounting tasks. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable, conducting account reconciliations, and upholding accounting policies and procedures that ensure optimal efficiency while adhering to necessary internal controls and compliance with US GAAP. This role is a vital component of the finance team and will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounts payable transactions, including corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Establish new vendors in accounting software in accordance with 1099 regulations; maintain vendor records and create new files as required.
  • Process vendor invoices by matching them to purchase orders or obtaining departmental approvals and reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Record prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation, and other accurate monthly journal entries along with corresponding reconciliations.
  • Foster positive business relationships with clients, vendors, and external parties.
  • Review cost center classifications to ensure accurate coding.
  • Organize workload to comply with the corporate closing schedule.
  • Assist with various audits (financial statements, bank, external) and tax compliance (1099s) as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and automate processes for increased efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in high-growth SaaS or public accounting settings.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable and Balance Sheet reconciliation.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).
  • Familiarity with Financial Force or similar accounting systems; experience with expense reporting software (Nexonia) and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach, be able to manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet shifting deadlines and priorities across multiple concurrent projects, along with adaptability.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as a self-starter and problem-solver with minimal guidance, while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Strong ethical standards, integrity, and discretion.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of independent problem-solving with minimal supervision.
  • Effective and decisive under pressure, demonstrating a sense of urgency.
