The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in ensuring patient satisfaction and efficient operations at RWJBarnabas Health. This dynamic individual will work closely with physicians, managers, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Check-in and Check-out: Ensure accurate and efficient patient registration, including demographic and insurance information.
- Telephone and In-person Communication: Respond to patient inquiries, provide information, and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Clerical Functions: Perform basic administrative tasks, such as copying, scanning, faxing, and mail distribution.
- Health Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records, including filing and organizing documents as needed.
- Insurance and Authorization: Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain pre-authorizations and certifications.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience: Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to accuracy and detail, ability to multitask and work under pressure.
