Mental Health Professional

Mental health technicians play a vital role in the delivery of patient care services. At UHS, our mental health technicians are responsible for observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan. They work closely with nursing staff to ensure that patients receive high-quality care.
Job Description
A Mental Health Technician (MHT) at UHS performs selected patient care activities under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Nurse Manager. Primary duties include:
- Observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan
- Reporting this information to the Staff Registered Nurse
- Escorting and monitoring patient activities
- Attending to patient personal needs
Requirements
To be successful as a Mental Health Technician, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Certification
- Crisis prevention certification as required
- CPR certification
- Minimum one year experience with appropriate education
