Job Title: Advanced Certified Nursing Assistant - Patient Transport Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team as a Patient Transport Specialist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and transportation services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Transportation: Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, tests, and procedures within the healthcare facility, ensuring their comfort and security during transit.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of vehicles to ensure they are clean and in good working condition.
  • Patient Care: Provide age-appropriate patient care, including bathing, feeding, and vital sign monitoring, to assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and sanitize patient care equipment, including IV pumps, wheelchairs, and bedside commodes, to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Rehabilitation Assistance: Assist patients with rehabilitative exercises and provide guidance during therapeutic activities.
  • Van Driver Trainer: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing van drivers, covering safe driving techniques, vehicle operation, and customer service.
  • Infection Control and Safety Measures: Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe healthcare environment by following proper hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to guidelines set by The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of motor vehicle operations, passenger, equipment, and supply loading and unloading methods, traffic regulations, and the maintenance of motor vehicles.
  • Education and Certifications: Current certification as an Advanced Certified Nursing Assistant and completion of a training program in patient care and transportation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, bend, and move patients with or without assistance, and to perform other physical tasks as required.
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent exposure to patients with various medical conditions. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations is essential.
