About the Role

Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lines Claims Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for handling commercial lines claims, providing exceptional customer service, and working closely with our customers and carriers to resolve claims efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and carriers through regular communication and collaboration.
  • Work with an assigned book of customers to provide clarity on coverage matters and ensure seamless claims handling.
  • Report losses to appropriate carriers and communicate with customers and adjusters regarding claim handling.
  • Monitor the status of open claims and prepare loss reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Advocate for customers during the claims process and assist with the collection of denied claims from carriers.
  • Attend training sessions and courses to maintain up-to-date skills and licensing requirements.
  • Conduct confidential and independent work, with the ability to work in a team environment as needed.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and carriers.
  • Problem-solving and planning/organizing skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Mathematical skills, with the ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
  • Quality control and adaptability, with the ability to monitor work and adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Safety and security awareness, with the ability to observe and follow safety procedures.
Education and Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in claims handling and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of property & casualty coverage, current legislation, rules, laws, and other regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Access.
  • Able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
