Job Summary

Martin County Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing radiology procedures, instructing patients, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiology procedures in accordance with clinicians' orders, exam protocols, and instructions.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
  • Assess and interpret data on patients, identifying requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
  • Provide care as stipulated in the departmental policy, following prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
  • Maintain examination rooms and work areas, keeping all necessary items stocked.
  • Monitor radiology procedures and exams, providing quality imaging and maintaining accurate department records, reports, and files.
  • Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Radiology care team, clinicians, and department personnel to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of care.
  • Follow aseptic procedures and precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious material.
  • Follow safety and infection control guidelines and policies established by the hospital.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Licensed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, ARRT registration.
  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board, MRT registration.
  • CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience as an ARRT and MRT Registered Technologist.
  • Knowledge of all radiologic equipment and proficiency at all general studies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in CT required.
Skills
  • Ability to operate all Radiology Equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, sterile, and infection control guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and procedures to avoid exposure to infectious materials or equipment.
  • Organizes time and sets priorities to accomplish workload.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work area to ensure general safety.
  • Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain competence.
  • Annually completes all required in-service and training.
  • Completes all required CE credits to maintain licensure.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management, and peers.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in the English language, in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy, stressful, or emergency situations.
