Job Summary

This position provides electrical technical support for submarine construction activities at the Electric Boat (EB) facility. The successful candidate will assist trade personnel in overcoming construction problems and facilitate resolution of design issues for all electrical work performed at the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering oversight and assistance to trade personnel
  • Evaluate emergent shipyard issues and develop technically acceptable resolutions
  • Interpret design, drawing, and specification requirements
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations
  • Facilitate discipline-specific knowledge transfer to the construction support engineering team
  • Coordinate engagement of design and engineering subject matter experts in the construction sequence
  • Perform evaluations for 'as-built' configurations as required
  • Perform surveillances of manufacturing, inspection, and testing of trade work
  • Regularly interface with trade personnel, management, and on-site customer representatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is required
  • Candidates must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Prior deck plate construction engineering experience is highly desirable
  • Prior experience working with US Navy submarines/ships is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Electronic Desktop (7G, Work Orders, ELCADD, ERS, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Team Center and JCALS is highly desirable
Physical Qualifications
  • Climbing, crawling, kneeling, stooping
