Position Overview:
As a Medical Assistant within our Pediatric department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our young patients. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate care to patients in a Patient-Centered Medical Home environment.
- Prepare for patient appointments by reviewing medical records and confirming necessary lab work.
- Accurately document patient vital signs and maintain electronic health records.
- Assist with patient intake and preparation for examinations.
- Support healthcare providers during patient assessments, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer prescribed medications and perform laboratory tests as required.
- Monitor patients during medical procedures and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervising staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification from AMT, AAMA, NHA, or NAHP is essential.
- Current RMA, CMA, CCMA, or NRCMA certification is necessary.
- BLS/CPR certification is required.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience as a medical assistant or completion of an externship is expected.
Principal Duties:
- Under the guidance of the Practice Manager, deliver quality care to pediatric patients.
- Assist with patient access functions and support healthcare providers during examinations.
- Operate medical equipment, conduct diagnostic tests, administer medications, and monitor patient conditions.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, organizational policies, and promote professional growth.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
