About this Role:

This Progressive Care (Step-down) Registered Nurse position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional nursing care to patients requiring intermediate or step-down level care related to vascular surgery, small and large bowel surgery, thoracic surgery, radical neck or osteotomy surgeries. You will gain hands-on experience with managing surgical equipment such as chest tubes, NG tubes, surgical drains, and epidurals, as well as administering medications in a safe manner consistent with state practice and organizational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzing assessment data to determine priority needs and creating effective treatment plans.
  • Serve as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or RN applicant.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred but not required.
