SVP Worldwide, a leader in the consumer sewing machine industry, is seeking a dedicated Senior Tax Associate to join our Finance team. This role is designed to support the VP of Tax while maintaining a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of federal and state direct income tax documentation and support utilizing data from multiple systems.
  • Management of tax compliance processes, with minimal reliance on tax software.
  • Development of state and local income tax apportionment workpapers.
  • Processing of tax payments and invoices for the Accounts Payable department.
  • Review and approval of monthly sales and local tax returns.
  • Collaboration with the Indirect Tax Manager on various projects.
  • Coordination of annual report information and filings for U.S. and Canadian entities.
  • Monthly reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger Direct Tax accounts.
  • Support the VP of Tax in addressing notices from Tax Authorities.
  • Facilitate online income tax payments as directed.
  • Assist in maintaining multiple entity online Tax Authority accounts.
  • Provide indirect tax consulting support for e-commerce initiatives.
  • Assist in ensuring timely compliance with business licenses and gross receipts taxes.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual transfer pricing calculations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel.
  • Experience with tax compliance and fixed asset depreciation.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Direct Income Tax.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and understand the business.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
