Position Overview

The Hatchery Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing hatchery functions, ensuring optimal quality and efficiency in the production and delivery of day-old poults. This position is integral to the success of our operations at Select Genetics, a leading provider of quality poults on both national and international levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management and scheduling of hatchery activities, including egg hatching, sorting, vaccinating, and shipping of poults.
  • Support the Hatchery Manager in supervising employees and coordinating hatchery processes to achieve production goals.
  • Enforce hatchery policies and practices to maintain high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Review performance metrics and reports to monitor productivity and ensure targets are met.
  • Facilitate the procurement of necessary hatchery supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all company information.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in employee supervision and team management.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and adaptability to change.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
Work Environment

This role requires a dynamic work environment, involving frequent sitting, standing, and walking, along with the use of computer systems. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced setting with tight deadlines and the need for multitasking. Extended hours, including weekends, may be necessary.
