Job Title: Direct Support Professional

At Open Systems Healthcare, Inc., we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centered support to individuals in their homes and community settings.
  • Implement individualized support plans, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective services.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and support team members.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living, including personal care, transportation, and household tasks.
  • Support individuals in acquiring and maintaining skills to achieve their goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Manage crisis situations with care and professionalism, adhering to Universal Precautions and reporting incidents promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, adhering to OSH policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education from a foreign country.
  • Successful completion of orientation and DSP training program, with a score of 80% or greater.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
  • Reliable form of transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of related work experience or education in the Human or Social Services field.
  • Advocacy experience or education working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with Washington, DC's public transportation system and community resources.
