Job Summary

The Account Consultant will be responsible for developing business with our existing client base, and securing new customers to our business. This role will be focused on small to mid-sized commercial service maintenance contracts in the greater Phoenix territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Service Branch Manager to identify and qualify prospects and clients to pursue, while meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals.
  • Develop a business plan to illustrate the actions and development of the market growth, including sales order intake and gross margin portfolio management.
  • Meet with prospective clients to develop needs and ultimately sell Automation system retrofits, existing building commissioning, optimization opportunities, and performance-based customized service contracts.
  • Engage with the construction side of the business at the appropriate construction phase to engage the owner about maintaining the Automation system once the project has been completed.
  • Develop expertise in automation systems and create written proposals that clearly articulate the benefits of Southland Industries' recommendations both technically and financially.
  • Manage a calendar to pre-plan customer visits, manage a business funnel, and provide accurate forecasting for projected sales and timing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or seven years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and maintenance sales experience.
  • Professional sales training is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Excellent demonstrated sales skills in prospecting, qualifying, proposing, and closing, including cold calling for new prospects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective and professional collaboration internally and externally, with broad problem-solving abilities and an ability to focus on goal obtainment.
