Full-Time Staff Pharmacist Position in Altoona, PA

Your Important Role as a Staff Pharmacist:

As a staff pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
  • Receiving verbal RX orders and accurately reducing to writing in adherence with State and Federal laws and regulations
  • Interpreting, filling/refilling, labeling, and bagging prescription orders completely and accurately
  • Evaluating the appropriateness of RX orders with consideration to patient safety and legal requirements
  • Providing drug counseling to customers and prescribers
  • Being familiar with third-party billing and procedures, facilitating charges for customers
  • Maintaining accurate records, including insurance, properly receiving RX information from customers, correctly and accurately delivering RX to customers, assisting with over-the-counter medication recommendations
  • Executing phone calls to prescribers and prescribers' office staff
  • Demonstrating ability to accurately and efficiently utilize RX computer system
  • Maintaining accurate inventory, reconciliation, and research of controlled substances in compliance with the record-keeping of the controlled substance account
  • Actively promoting proper immunizations to patients and providing them safely and effectively
  • Following all policies and procedures

Qualifications for this Staff Pharmacist Position:

To be considered for this position, you must possess:
  • A current Pharmacist license in the state of PA, with no board restrictions – or have a PA license in process or willing to obtain ASAP
  • Graduate of a US School of Pharmacy or have passed a foreign equivalency exam
  • Successfully passed the NAPLEX exam
