Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our medical/surgical unit, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist professional nursing personnel in providing quality patient care, performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, and using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques.
  • Provide direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure, including taking and recording vital signs, measuring and recording fluid intake/output, and applying dressings.
  • Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, eating and hydration, and help patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
  • Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
  • Document relevant patient care data and provide clerical support to the unit, including order entry, chart processing, and answering telephones.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) licensure in Washington state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care facility, preferably in a medical/surgical unit.
  • Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant - Washington or Registered Nurse Assistant - Washington licensure.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices, fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment, and the ability to move around the area with frequent sitting. The work environment may involve exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles.
