Electrical Superintendent Job Description

JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of electrical work on our projects, ensuring that they are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead electrical teams on site, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards and that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Manage electrical subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that they are performing to the required standards.
  • Develop and implement electrical work plans, ensuring that they are aligned with the overall project schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate and manage the care, custody, and control of electrical equipment and materials on site.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings and weekly trade meetings, ensuring that all team members are aware of project progress and any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Attend and participate in progress and project OAC meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of project progress and any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Develop and implement electrical schedules, ensuring that they are aligned with the overall project schedule and budget.
  • Manage electrical budgets and costs, ensuring that they are aligned with the overall project budget and that any variances are addressed promptly.
  • Communicate key electrical information to owners, design teams, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Follow the project filing and documentation organization system, ensuring that all electrical documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Approve and record unit cost information for weekly reports and complete daily reports, logs, and tracking reports.
  • Evaluate progress on electrical work and make adjustments as needed.
  • Manage material and equipment needs for electrical work.
  • Support the MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes.
  • Assist in the selection of formwork, tools, and equipment necessary to complete electrical operations.
  • Manage timecard approval process to ensure reporting of accurate hours and proper cost codes.
  • Ensure quality compliance through use of specifications, setting quality standards, in-house QA/QC, and outside resources.
  • Support project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating activities with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
  • Gain understanding of the project pursuit process and methodology.
  • Participate with field operations leadership and the project team to put together a project pre-plan; implement, monitor, and adjust as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for their assigned project.
  • Partner with project management to identify schedule and costs associated with project changes.
  • Participate in the negotiation process with the owner and architect to gain agreement for project changes.
  • Participate with the project team in preparation and presentation for all project review meetings, including the monthly review process and other key project meetings.
  • Participate in the project buy-out meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Understand and apply the terms and conditions of the owner and subcontractor contracts for the project.
  • Responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent.
  • Lead, support, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understand JE Dunn's policy of non-discrimination and ensure positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.
