Discretion and meticulousness are paramount, as you will manage sensitive security-related data.

Position Responsibilities:

In this role, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities to ensure the effective functioning of security systems. Your typical duties will encompass the installation and servicing of access control, intrusion alarms, security entrance devices, and fire systems. You will promptly respond to emergency situations, ensuring that immediate security and life safety issues are addressed efficiently. Furthermore, you will align, adjust, repair, maintain, and calibrate sensitive instruments and equipment, diagnose and troubleshoot systems, and assist in the development of training programs for colleagues. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with administration and other trades, preparing comprehensive documentation, and providing input for preventive maintenance schedules. This position combines mechanical, locksmith, electrical, and electronic work, making it a highly skilled and rewarding opportunity.

Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly compensation for this position is $36.04, based on qualifications and experience.

Key Duties:

  • Perform installation and service of access control, intrusion alarms, security entrance devices, fire systems, and various other security/life safety systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours (including holidays) to resolve immediate security and life safety concerns.
  • Align, adjust, repair, maintain, and calibrate sensitive instruments and equipment according to manufacturers' and departmental specifications.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot systems, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Assist in developing training programs for other employees.
  • Implement upgrades and additions to systems to enhance functionality, usability, and reliability.
  • Coordinate with administration and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Prepare documentation in various written and electronic formats (e.g., daily logs, time and materials, key and material records, key inventory) to ensure compliance with regulations and convey information.
  • Provide input for the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules for assigned electronic systems.
  • Maintain associated records and inventories, prepare specifications for repair parts, and recommend budgeting for these items.
  • Compile specifications and make recommendations for ordering repair components, replacement instruments, sensors, and test equipment.
  • Perform a variety of highly skilled mechanical, locksmith, electrical, and electronic work at the journey level.
  • Understand, interpret, and manage a grand master key system in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Electronics or a closely related field, plus one (1) year of paid experience in operating computerized process control, communications, security systems, or similar systems. Education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical sketches, drawings, blueprints, work requests, and various project documents as required to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, co-workers, airport tenants, employees, operators, department support staff, suppliers, and the general public.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference may be given to individuals with previous paid experience installing, servicing, and maintaining access control, security systems, or life safety systems in similar high-security environments.

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate physical activity, requiring the ability to push, pull, or lift medium to heavy weights (30 to 75 lbs.).
  • Exposure to uncomfortable working positions such as stooping, crouching, and bending, as well as hazards associated with confined spaces, high voltages, heat, cold, noise, and other elements typical of an airport environment.
