Job Description

Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, with the option to work from home one day a week.

Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. (BAMSI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and enriching their lives through compassionate support and diverse services. As a Program Director Consultant, you will provide ongoing supervision, oversight, and guidance to the program, identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the overall operation of the program, ensuring high-quality and responsive services to those referred.
  2. Act as a point-of-contact, systems navigator, and advocate for individuals, children, and families.
  3. Identify and utilize cultural and community resources, developing organizational linkages and a comprehensive list of available resources.
  4. Establish and maintain positive relationships with other community agencies/organizations, business, and local civic leaders to address community needs and facilitate the efficient use of available resources.
  5. Research and analyze community needs to determine program directions and goals.
  6. Develop and oversee the fiscal management and utilization of program budget, including profit/loss, expenditures, contract development, and utilization.
  7. Work with the Vice President of Operations, BAMSI Grant Writer & Marketing Team to develop new funding streams, recommend, and assist in areas of growth and development.
  8. Assist with grant writing and RFR applications annually to secure funding for the program.
  9. Coordinate and monitor compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements.
  10. In coordination with Vice President of Operations, develop and update program procedures and protocols to reflect industry standards, best practices, and highest quality services.
  11. Ensure implementation of agency policies and procedures, including those related to Quality Management, Facilities, Human Resources, Information Services, Marketing, and Learning & Development.
  12. Recruit, interview, and hire qualified volunteers, interns, and staff.
  13. Evaluate the work of staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
  14. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of staffing needs, interview, and recommend candidates for hire, and supervise staff, interns, and volunteers to assure program expectations met.
  15. Interface with community and agency affiliates, local representatives, and officials, as necessary, to promote a positive image of the Helpline, BH&CS division, and BAMSI, throughout the community.
  16. Provide training and professional development opportunities to staff, volunteers, and interns, as requested.
  17. Attend Operations and Budget meetings.
  18. Speak to community groups, as requested, to educate and interpret agency purposes, programs, and available resources.
  19. Work with the Vice President of Operations to respond to grants and proposals for services.
  20. Maintain up-to-date documentation, relevant filing system, and referral/demographic database.
  21. Monitor consumer satisfaction reports and ensure quality services.
  22. Attend and participate in community meetings and forums.
  23. Prepare quarterly/annual statistical/outcomes reports, as requested, and in conformance to funding requirements, and maintain training manuals, resource guides.
  24. Perform duties consistent with agency/program policies and procedures.
  25. Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Universal/standard precautions must be utilized, and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.
  26. Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree and three years' experience in social services.
  • Strong customer service, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Grant writing experience a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently, inter-dependently, and with flexible hours.
  • Teamwork-oriented and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • General understanding of fiscal challenges and accessible resources, in Massachusetts.
  • Understanding of the social service delivery system, the housing market, and working with underprivileged families.
  • At least two years' experience and knowledge of fiscal management and fundraising preferred.
  • Ability to follow-through with delegated tasks and accountability.
  • Strong computer skills-Windows, MS Office, Excel, and Internet.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own means of transportation.
