Job Summary

As a Laboratory Technician at Sentara Healthcare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results. Your primary responsibilities will include performing laboratory tests, interpreting test results, documenting and reporting test results, and maintaining equipment, instruments, and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood tests, urine tests, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Interpret test results and document findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Report test results to healthcare professionals in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and tools to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) from a recognized professional organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
