Postdoctoral Scholar Position in RNA Biology and Musculoskeletal Research

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral scholar to join our research group at the Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in RNA biology and musculoskeletal research, with a focus on identifying roles of non-coding RNAs and RNA processing mechanisms in bone regeneration.

Research Focus

Our lab combines basic RNA biology and translational musculoskeletal research to investigate innovative roles of immune cells in the homeostasis of musculoskeletal tissues. We utilize state-of-the-art techniques in the fields of RNA biology, bone biology, and osteoimmunology to advance our understanding of bone regeneration and impaired bone repair in different disease models.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research projects in RNA biology and musculoskeletal research
  • Develop and implement novel experimental approaches to investigate non-coding RNAs and RNA processing mechanisms
  • Collaborate with other researchers in the lab and at Penn State to advance our understanding of bone regeneration and musculoskeletal research
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences
  • Publish research results in top-tier scientific journals
Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral scholar with a PhD in a relevant field. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record and significant experimental training in molecular biology and biochemistry. Experience in genetic mouse models, bone biology, obesity or diabetes murine models, immunology, or bioinformatics is highly desirable.

The position is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire. Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
