Job Title: Postdoctoral Scholar

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team at the Penn State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related field, and will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing manuscripts for publication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments to investigate the effects of bariatric surgery and gastrointestinal manipulations on neural, hormonal, and behavioral improvements in a rat model of spinal cord injury.
  • Analyze data and prepare manuscripts for publication in reputable scientific journals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance research goals and objectives.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of technicians and graduate students in the lab.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent degree in biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, bio-medical sciences, or related discipline at time of hire.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
