Position Overview
Langan is seeking a Traffic/Transportation Intern or Co-op to become an integral part of our dynamic team. This role is essential in assisting with various Traffic/Transportation projects. As an intern, you will gain exposure to a range of activities, including transportation impact assessments, parking evaluations, traffic management for large events, master transportation planning, traffic signal design, and the development of Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) plans. Responsibilities may include fieldwork, technical report preparation, data analysis, and support for the Site/Civil group as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct traffic observations;
- Draft technical reports, calculations, design plans, and specifications for traffic and transportation projects, including impact studies, highway occupancy permits, traffic signals, and pedestrian circulation plans;
- Monitor construction activities;
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning;
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher;
- Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is highly desirable;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or SoftDesk civil software is advantageous;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Base Hourly Range: $21 - $28. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, market conditions, education, certifications, and applicable skills.
