Key Responsibilities:
- Punctually arrive at job sites prepared for work
- Coordinate the installation of fire alarm systems with site supervisors and other trades
- Install conduits, raceways, and enclosures for fire alarm system wiring and components in compliance with relevant codes and specifications
- Utilize various hand tools, including drills, benders, and threaders, for the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems
- Pull wires, install, and terminate devices and control panels
- Integrate fire alarm systems with building management, automation, and HVAC systems as required
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of completed fire alarm systems prior to final inspections
- Complete necessary documentation for task planning and equipment inspections
- Ensure all fire alarm system components are installed neatly and professionally
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid fire alarm installer license in the home state
- At least two years of experience in installing fire alarm and life safety systems
- Familiarity with NFPA standards 70, 72, and 101
- Strong understanding of blueprints and ladder diagrams
Preferred Skills:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Electrical journeyman's license
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work on manlifts, ladders, and scaffolds
- Comfortable working in confined spaces for short durations
- Work environment may vary, including natural ambient conditions and confined areas
- Standard workweeks typically consist of 8-10 hour days, Monday through Friday, with project-specific overtime as needed
- Travel may be required for specific projects
