Key Responsibilities:

  1. IDENTIFYING AND PROPOSING SOLUTIONS FOR CLIENT TAX AND PLANNING CHALLENGES. Conduct thorough research on various client planning issues and suggest innovative solution options. Collaborate with relevant professionals to implement these solutions.
  2. ACTING AS A TECHNICAL RESOURCE. Provide expert support for complex high-net-worth client relationships, delivering financial planning, trust, estate, and tax expertise through direct client interactions. Work alongside other technical experts within the firm to ensure comprehensive service.
  3. DELIVERING TAX SERVICES. Prepare and review year-end tax planning strategies. Oversee the completion of tax returns and review those prepared by other team members.
  4. ASSUMING RESPONSIBILITY AS A TAX RETURN SIGNATORY. For select tax returns, conduct final reviews and ensure the quality and accuracy of tax returns before submission to the IRS and relevant state and local authorities.
  5. STAYING UPDATED ON TAX LEGISLATION AND FINANCIAL PLANNING DEVELOPMENTS. Monitor changes in tax law and financial planning, translating these updates into clear, actionable strategies for client benefit.
  6. EDUCATING CLIENTS AND STAFF ON FINANCIAL PLANNING AND TAX MATTERS. Provide training and insights to advisors and staff on advanced financial planning and tax topics. Contribute to internal newsletters and participate in webinars to discuss complex issues.
  7. MENTORING JUNIOR STAFF. Offer guidance and support to Associate Advisors and Tax Staff, fostering the development of junior team members.
  8. COLLABORATING FOR TEAM SUCCESS. Engage with colleagues to promote efficient workflows, resolve issues, and enhance the firm's reputation while achieving organizational goals.

Supervisory Duties:
Assist in mentoring Associate Advisors and Tax Staff. Responsibilities may include guiding hiring, training, and performance evaluations in line with organizational policies.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. A minimum of 8 years of experience in financial planning and tax preparation is essential, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity preferred. Professional designations such as CPA, Enrolled Agent, CFP, or a Master of Taxation are highly regarded.

Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess a CPA and/or Enrolled Agent license. A CFP certificate is preferred or the willingness to obtain one. A valid driver’s license is also required.
