Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at CenterWell Senior Primary Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for administrative duties and patient care. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
- Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow
- Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
- Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
- Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
- Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
- Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
- Current CPR certification
- Phlebotomy experience
- Active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA or AAH
- Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Experience in a fast-paced/high volume environment
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
