Position Overview

At Sinclair Tractor, we are seeking a dedicated Service Technician who will independently handle both basic and advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance tasks on agricultural and outdoor power equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts thorough diagnostics on agricultural and outdoor power equipment to identify necessary repairs.
  2. Executes repairs on agricultural and outdoor power equipment as directed by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
  3. Engages in ongoing training and professional development related to job functions.
  4. Completes all required documentation and reports associated with work assignments.
  5. Stays updated on product knowledge for John Deere and competing brands.
  6. Ensures the upkeep of vehicles, tools, inventory, and equipment.
  7. Provides mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians.

The responsibilities outlined above represent the essential functions of this role. Specific duties may vary based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated expertise in the methods, materials, tools, and techniques for repairing outdoor power and agricultural equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient in operating diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment operation.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Work conducted in a shop setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending and kneeling may be required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel to job sites may be necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting salary based on experience, with opportunities for advancement.
  • Standard work hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with additional hours as needed.
