At Sinclair Tractor, we are seeking a dedicated Service Technician who will independently handle both basic and advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance tasks on agricultural and outdoor power equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts thorough diagnostics on agricultural and outdoor power equipment to identify necessary repairs.
- Executes repairs on agricultural and outdoor power equipment as directed by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
- Engages in ongoing training and professional development related to job functions.
- Completes all required documentation and reports associated with work assignments.
- Stays updated on product knowledge for John Deere and competing brands.
- Ensures the upkeep of vehicles, tools, inventory, and equipment.
- Provides mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians.
The responsibilities outlined above represent the essential functions of this role. Specific duties may vary based on operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated expertise in the methods, materials, tools, and techniques for repairing outdoor power and agricultural equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in operating diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment operation.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Work conducted in a shop setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending and kneeling may be required.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel to job sites may be necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting salary based on experience, with opportunities for advancement.
- Standard work hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with additional hours as needed.
